New Burlington Street is one of the newest streets built on the former estate of the then Lord Burlington with contruction beginning around the year 1735.

The street was originally designed for residential occupation by wealthy people until the first commercial property on the street became the house at No. 11 which became known as Burlington Coffee House or Fisher's Coffee House after its proprietor Robert Fisher.
