Mayfair Tube Stations

Mayfair is well served for London Underground Stations with five in the local area.

Mayfair is a relatively big area, if you’re walking in heels especially, so you will want to know which one to arrive at if you are visiting Mayfair on a shopping trip or for the nightlife, perhaps a bar, restaurant or nightclub.

The Mayfair tube stations are:

Bond Street (Central Line, Jubilee) – Surprisingly Bond Street Tube is on South Molton Street and not as near New or Old Bond Street as you would think. A good station if you are visiting Selfridges as it lands you right in the middle of Oxford Street. Bond Street is the station to head to if you are going to Jalouse nightclub.

Green Park (Jubillee Line, Victoria Line, Piccadilly Line) – Green Park Tube is next to Green Park, a stone’s throw from Buckingham Palace. Green Park is a stop close to a lot of the best Mayfair hotels, restaurants and nightclubs as May Fair Bar, funkybuddha, Nobu, May Fair Hotel, The Ritz and Hakassan are all nearby.

Hyde Park Corner (Piccadilly Line) – Unsurprisingly Hyde Park Corner Tube is close to Hyde Park so, like Green Park Tube, a busy destination when the Sun is shining.

Marble Arch (Central Line) – If you are shopping on Oxford Street, visiting Hyde Park or going for a shisha on the Edgeware Road then Marble Arch is the tube station for you.

Oxford Circus (Central Line, Bakerloo Line) – Top Shop, Apple Store, Regent Street and Soho are all near Oxford Circus so it is a key destination for shoppers.

There are a lot of nice affordable restaurants for lunch in Soho so beginning or ending your day at Oxford Circus is a common practice. Although incredibly busy the new x-crossing at Oxford Circus has eased congestion on the pavements.

Not all entrances are open at all times of the day.

Piccadilly (Bakerloo Line, Piccadilly Line) – In the heart of Piccadilly Circus and a short walk from Leicester Square and Jermyn Street.

Piccadilly Tube Station, alongside Oxford Circus, is amongst busiest in London. The area is currently being redeveloped in time for the 2012 Olympics so it is not looking the best at the moment.
